In about an hour and a half, I will be radioactive.
My doctor suspects that my hyperthyroidism has returned so I’m going to undergo a thyroid scan to check if that is the case. I have a feeling he’s right. Tremors. Palpitations. Rapid weight loss. All signs point to hyperthyroidism.
Even the slightest possibility of such a recurrence would normally be enough to make me fret but i feel strangely calm as I sit on this tiled block at the hospital lobby.
No, scratch that. This feeling isn’t strange at all. It actually makes perfect sense. I mean, why should I be overcome with fear and anxiety when I know that God is with me?
He is omnipotent and omniscient. Everything that happens is according to His plan and purpose. As Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
